  • Guided sailing charter of the Bras d’Or Lake UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, featuring over 1,250 km (790 miles) of coastline 
    • 4-hour charter includes one hour in a sheltered cove to swim and paddle board
    • 6-hour charter provides more time for sailing and exploring the coastline, as well as ample time to swim and paddle board our pristine waters
  • Hands-on sailing: Take the wheel, assist with mooring, or turn off the engines to experience the tranquility of travelling by wind
  • Guided by your local captain,who has over 45 years boating experience, is a wealth of local knowledge, and takes pride in sharing the Bras d’Or Lake and local stories with guests
  • Swim or paddle board in one of the many sheltered coves
  • Charcuterie board, featuring local flavours, prepared by Sailing CBI
  • Optional meal arrangements can be made at time of booking. Choose from a delicious locally catered meal or make use of the modern galley kitchen, which is well-equipped with fridges, freezer, and cooking stove.

2022 Prices:

  • 4-hour private group charter of up to 6 people: $1,000
  • 6-hour private group charter of up to 6 people: $1,600
  • $35 per additional guest to a maximum of 12 

Overnight option: Extend your Savour-and-Sail adventure into an overnight experience. Spend the night onboard in one of our private guest cabins and finish with a gourmet breakfast at The Freight Shed Waterside Bistro in Baddeck.

  • From your charter, you will always have great visibility of the surrounding landscape and beautiful views that can only be experienced from the water  
  • Cape Bretoner 1 is a 42’ x 24’ Alpha catamaran with a fully equipped kitchen, two dining areas, three private berths, and two full washrooms. There are two Queen suites and one three/quarter bed berth available for overnight bookings.
  • After July 15, water temperatures reach over 21°C (70°F) to a high of 25°C (78°F) in August and September
  • The Bras d’Or Lake is an inland saltwater sea (brackish)—the closer you are to the ocean, the saltier the water
  • The lake is renowned for great sailing conditions, with little fog, good prevailing winds and over 966 km (600 miles) of inland sailing. The water is very deep in channels and sheltered mooring areas have 12-15 feet of water.
  • Sailing CBI takes precautions for COVID-19 to ensure a safe environment aboard

Conditions: Advance booking required. Day time charters are available for 1-12 people. Sailing CBI provides a safety orientation prior to boarding, including how COVID-19 regulations will be managed. In response to COVID-19 related restrictions, Sailing CBI has reduced booking fees from 10% to 5% for holding a reservation. Full payment is due 14 days prior to charter date. Full refunds will be provided for bookings cancelled during the COVID pandemic.
