The 42 foot Catamaran was fantastic to see and Paul went over the safety elements of the boat. It had all sorts of room and was lovely. The scenery was great, the crew was helpful, friendly and courteous. We went on a 7 hour sail and even went for a swim in the quietest of coves. To top things off, we were fed a 4-course meal prepared by a red seal chef. It was delicious! The wild blueberry pie was decadent! I definitely recommend you consider this excursion when you visit Cape Breton, you will not regret it for one minute!

My husband and I spent 2 days and 1 night aboard... read more the Cape Bretoner 1, a new 42 foot state of the art catamaran with 2 other couples. We will never forget the young, experienced and charming Captain Jamie and his first mate, who entertained hosted and explained. We sailed the renowned and pristine Bras d'or Lake during the days and dropped anchor in Baddeck for the night.

Our favourite part was finding a protected little cove with white limestone shore formations where we dropped anchor and swam in the warm calm water. Idyllic. A bald eagle was resting in a tree on shore and let us get to within 50 feet of him before flying off over our heads as we swam. We could hear and feel the swish of his wings! Magical.

It costs more than the Holiday Inn ... Hehe! ... but the experience is priceless.

  • star rating  My sisters and I ( six of us) had a wonderful adventure aboard the Cape Bretoner 1 catamaran on the inland sea, the B'ras D'Or, on a three-day cruise.
... read more /> The catamaran is gracious, spacious, and glides smoothly through the water, even for a non-sailor like me. There was plenty of space for all of us to leisure in the sun and breeze: on the trampoline netting, up front, or sitting on the front deck, or under the shade of the back deck with comfortable padded seating and a large table. The kitchen had all the amenities including a stove top, three large fridge drawers, one large freezer drawer, and a good-sized counter on which to work or serve food. A kitchen table with bench seating was also convenient for extra space and comfort.

Having three double beds and two full bathrooms afforded a next luxury for six women on a three-day cruise.

Our crew, Paul and Jamie, were very accommodating to what we wanted to do and where we wanted to explore. They provided lots of helpful and interesting information along the way.

We experienced sailing on the sparkling expanse of the beautiful, salt water of the B'ras D'Or, the catamaran smoothly cutting through the waves, and playfully splashing the sun-soaked deck.

We breakfasted, dined, swam and relaxed in calm, sun-drenched coves. Comforted by the shelter of our dry and cozy kitchen and deck, we leisurely pieced together our jigsaw puzzle to the rumbling of thunder and pattering oF rain.

Crusing aboard the Cape Bretoner 1... Awesome!!
